The Gimlet's origins trace back to the British Royal Navy in the late 1800s, where Surgeon Rear-Admiral Sir Thomas Gimlette reportedly prescribed gin mixed with lime juice to prevent scurvy among sailors. What started as medicine quickly became the officers' cocktail of choice.

Raymond Chandler immortalized the drink in his 1953 novel "The Long Goodbye" — "A real gimlet is half gin and half Rose's lime juice and nothing else." Rivergreen's version honors the spirit of the original with real lime juice and natural cane sugar instead of cordial.

About Rivergreen Cocktails: From Doctor to Distiller. Rivergreen Cocktails was born in the summer of 2020 when I — a full-time OB/GYN and mother of three — found an unexpected spark of creativity during the pandemic. I noticed a shift from malt-based to spirit-based ready-to-drinks and saw an opportunity to craft premium gin cocktails made with real fruit juices, natural sweeteners, and a strong ABV.
